Internet
For a small business, the website is rarely the most urgent job and often the one left longest. This section covers the practical side of it — getting online, being found, and keeping things working once they are.
The articles here fall into three broad areas:
- Promotion. Reaching an audience without a marketing budget, through blogging, email and the everyday habits that keep a business visible.
- Building. The tools and decisions involved in putting a site together, and the ones worth thinking about before rather than after.
- Running. The work that never quite finishes — keeping content current, choosing the right format for a document, and making sure a site remains usable for everyone who visits.
None of it assumes a technical background. The aim throughout is to explain what a decision involves and why it matters, so that the choice can be made with some confidence.
