Active School Age Children

Now is the perfect time to teach your children the value of physical activity, to help them grow healthy and prepare them for the years to coma/

Children should be encouraged to enjoy regular physical activity, at least one hour every day. All types of physical activity will help to maintain a healthy body weight, promote well being and encourage activity in latter life.

Children should engage in certain types of aerobic exercise - dancing, walking or tennis - at least twice a week, to help build strong bones.

Team sports - soccer, basketball, lacrosse, hockey or football - not only help build a healthy body but help to enhance social skills, team work, and self-esteem.

Active play also counts as physical activity or sport.

Being physically active and eating a healthy diet in the right portions will help your children to maintain a healthy body weight.
