Casino de Montreal

Originally built as the French Pavilion for Expo '67, the casino is an architectural landmark. Over $300 million was spent renovating the building and the investors appear to have gotten their money's worth. It sparkles like a big brooch near the water.

The Bronx Zoo in New York
At that time, the zoo exhibited 843 animals - the Wildlife Conservation Society organization now houses over 4,500 on 265 acres. Those thousands, mostly in outdoor settings in re-created habitats, comprise more than 600 unique species.
And unique they are. Everything from the False Gharial (a kind of crocodile) to African wild dogs and Asian Small-Clawed Otters and Herbie the harbor seal are here.
Taronga Zoo in Sydney
The spectacular view begins even before reaching the zoo, with a delightful ferry ride from Circular Quay followed by a short cable-car ride up to the zoo entrance. Visitors making their way up winding paths among the enclosures can enjoy the view of both the harbor and the animals.
And what interesting animals they have! Kookaburras, wombats, Tasmanian Devils and all manner of native species are found here, along with the more traditional chimpanzees and giraffes. The giraffes are particularly interesting, since you get such a close-up view of these gentle, large-eyed animals.
