Thanksgiving Crafts

Thanksgiving crafts are an opportunity to your children with their creative side.

  1. Cornucopias are a great Thanksgiving craft idea for young children. Every child gets a ready-made paper cornucopia. Pre-cut pieces of various healthy food items. Have children choose and color the food items they like and glue them onto the cornucopia. Talk about why certain foods were chosen and why they are good for you.
  2. Turkeys Giving Thanks craft: Each child gets a paper turkey body and head they can color. Then provide cutout paper feathers with space to write,” What I’m Thankful For”, that can be glued around the turkey.
  3. Make a pine cone turkey. Cut out colorful paper feathers and glue to the back of the pinecone. Make a brown paper face, add a beak and googly eyes. Then glue the paper to the front of the pinecone and you’ve got a turkey.
  4. Turn your breadbasket into a festive turkey, using paper. Add colorful feathers to the back of the basket, wings go on the side and finish with a fun face at the front.
  5. Toilet papers rolls can be turned into felt Thanksgiving figures. Create pilgrims, turkeys and more.
  6. Let children recreate Thanksgiving dinner on a paper plate. A lunch bag, twisted and taped at the end becomes a turkey leg. Cotton balls are mashed potatoes. Use different colored pieces of tissue paper for vegetables.
  7. Upside down candy corns make great turkey feathers for your Thanksgiving projects.
  8. Create a construction paper garland by gluing together green, orange and red construction paper rings. On each ring, write a word of gratitude like “thanks”, “appreciation”, “love”, “family”, “friends” and more.
