Spring Craft Ideas

Enjoy quality time with your kids doing some spring craft projects.

  1. Kids Spring craft idea: Styrofoam Bugs. Gather Styrofoam balls in a variety of sizes to use as heads and body pieces. Keep paint to color the Styrofoam, googly eyes and pipe cleaners on hand as well.
  2. Who knew popcorn could become a cherry blossom? Have children paint the branches and a trunk of a tree onto construction paper. Take popcorn pieces and powdered pink tempera paint and shake them up in a plastic bag. Glue the pieces on the tree branches and you’ve got yourself a beautiful cherry blossom tree.
  3. Spring rock art: Paint small stones to turn them into ladybugs, other insects and flowers. Seal with varnish.
  4. Caterpillars are great spring crafts. Make them out of construction paper rings, egg cartons, handprints or pompoms.
  5. 3-dimensional paper daffodil. Using construction paper cut out green stems and leaves. Cut out the basic flower shape and glue everything onto your chosen background. Glue a small yellow cupcake liner into the middle of the flower. Embellish the inside with a few yellow buttons if you’d like.
  6. Turn a water bottle into a bird feeder. Poke holes through the bottle and insert clean wooden spoons that will serve as the feeder. Fill with birdseed and get out your binoculars.
  7. Construction paper pencil toppers are a fun spring project. Cut out construction paper butterflies, ladybugs and more. Cut a horizontal slit in the middle go the pencil can poke through.
