Spring Craft Ideas
Enjoy quality time with your kids doing some spring craft projects.
- Kids Spring craft idea: Styrofoam Bugs. Gather Styrofoam balls in a variety of sizes to use as heads and body pieces. Keep paint to color the Styrofoam, googly eyes and pipe cleaners on hand as well.
- Who knew popcorn could become a cherry blossom? Have children paint the branches and a trunk of a tree onto construction paper. Take popcorn pieces and powdered pink tempera paint and shake them up in a plastic bag. Glue the pieces on the tree branches and you’ve got yourself a beautiful cherry blossom tree.
- Spring rock art: Paint small stones to turn them into ladybugs, other insects and flowers. Seal with varnish.
- Caterpillars are great spring crafts. Make them out of construction paper rings, egg cartons, handprints or pompoms.
- 3-dimensional paper daffodil. Using construction paper cut out green stems and leaves. Cut out the basic flower shape and glue everything onto your chosen background. Glue a small yellow cupcake liner into the middle of the flower. Embellish the inside with a few yellow buttons if you’d like.
- Turn a water bottle into a bird feeder. Poke holes through the bottle and insert clean wooden spoons that will serve as the feeder. Fill with birdseed and get out your binoculars.
- Construction paper pencil toppers are a fun spring project. Cut out construction paper butterflies, ladybugs and more. Cut a horizontal slit in the middle go the pencil can poke through.
