Fall Crafts
The harvest season is brimming with inspirational ideas for Fall crafts. Try these.
- Make your own jack-o-lantern without a pumpkin. Take an orange and decorate a face by poking whole cloves in it.
- Make an autumn tree mosaic with pumpkin seeds. Glue seeds on construction paper in the shape of a trunk and branches. Color seeds with red, yellow and green food coloring and glue these on as the leaves changing color.
- Make a fun autumn masquerade mask. Start with a basic foam or construction paper mask. Glue on small maples leave around the eye shapes, creating a very dramatic effect.
- How about an autumn butterfly? Make a butterfly body from pipe cleaners; glue fall colored leaves on either side to form the wings.
- Leaf drawing art class: Have children collect a leaf that they like from outside. Cut it in half and glue it on a piece of drawing paper. Have children draw the other side of the leaf, paying attention to shapes, textures and more.
- Make an autumn button tree: Take a Styrofoam cone and glue on buttons in fall colors.
- Arm and handprint autumn tree painting: A handprint forms the branches and the arm forms the trunk. Finger paint dots of color in the branches to represent leaves changing color.
- Leaf Wreath: Cut out the center of a paper plate to make a wreath shape. Glue on leaves in a variety of colors and shapes.
- Leaves can add excitement to any drawing. Use them as turtle shells, butterfly leaves, puppy ears and more.
- Acorns make fun craft faces. The tops look like hats and the bottoms are waiting for you to draw on faces or add googly eyes.
- Acorn tops make great photo frame embellishments for your fall family photo.
- Apple head dolls are a creative way to use all those extra apples from the harvest
