Crafts For New Years
Let the kids participate in the celebrations with these crafts for New Years.
- A single paper plate makes a great New Year Eve noisemaker. Just place beads or beans on plate, fold in hand and glue or stapled closed. Decorate as you like to make it a unique piece.
- Empty your paper shredder and voila, you’ve got New Year’s confetti. Add a little festive color by shredding wrapping paper.
- To make a New Year’s party hat, all you need is a half circle of card stock with a 6-9 inch radius, depending on how large you want it. Form the half circle into a cone and staple it at the base and seam. Decorate with glitter, foil, feathers or whatever you’d like. String with elastic thread to keep it in place.
- A water bottle can become a noisemaker. Fill with a few dozen dried beans or some rice. Cover the bottle with glued on tissue paper in a variety of covers.
- Turn a paper plate into a New Year’s Countdown clock. Use foam shapes, paints, glitter or whatever you like to create the numbers and decorate. Use a paper fastener on the minute and hour hands, so children can update the time as it gets closer.
- Turn a plain hair band into a fun New Year’s headdress. Add feathers, glitter and other embellishments.
